Hi there! I’m Sarai!

I am a first generation graduate and have been in the education field as both an elementary and middle school teacher, and currently, school counselor. I absolutely LOVE what I do. Someone once told me “Sarai haz lo que te de vida!”, translated as “Sarai, do what gives you  life!”. I am so fortunate to have found that joy in education. Mentoring and helping students tap into their purpose and full potential is so exciting to me. Empowering students to rise above the challenges life brings is incredibly rewarding. I know first-hand, the impact education has had on my life and the many beautiful opportunities it has given me to serve and connect with others. I firmly believe education is for every student and I believe in the power it  has to positively change the trajectory of students’ lives.

My love for literature began at a very young age. Ever since I was a little girl, my father would take my sister and I to the library every few weeks to get a new stash of books and my mother would make sure we got our reading minutes in. I would wander up and down the aisles exploring every adventure that books had to offer.  I thoroughly enjoyed looking through the vibrant illustrations that brought the words to life. Though I did not know writing children’s books would one day become a dream of mine, I always valued the simplicity of the messages in children’s books. This is why I love bringing lessons to life in a kid-friendly way. Important lessons can be simple and yet so profound. My desire is that both young and old can find beautiful take-aways and perspectives in these books.
